Kerr Reservoir) is Virginia’s largest lake—50,000 acres of fresh water with over 800 miles of beautiful shoreline extending some 39 miles up the Roanoke River. Listed as the number one Crappie fishing lake in the United States by In-Fisherman magazine, Buggs Island Lake is host to state and national fishing tournaments.

Hunting & Fishing
The rolling Piedmont provides the serious hunter with diverse forests of upland hardwoods, brushy fields, and marshy grasslands holding white tail deer, wild turkey, and other game birds. For fishing, Southside Virginia is a flat-water angler’s paradise, offering striped bass, largemouth bass, white bass, walleye, crappie, chain pickerel, sunfish and catfish fishing at Bugg’s Island Lake and the lower Roanoke River. The Meherrin and Nottoway Rivers and many more places offer good fishing for spotted bass and many other fish.
